Aikido Security is one platform for a development team's whole security picture: code, dependencies, secrets, containers, cloud accounts and the running app, with fixes delivered as pull requests. Tuvio does one narrower job: it checks an app an AI assistant wrote, before its builder launches it, and explains what it found in plain language, with fix prompts for the assistant.

If you are looking for an Aikido Security alternative, the honest starting point is that Aikido's free plan is broad. This post shows where each one fits, including the cases where Aikido is the better pick.

## Who each one is for

Aikido's pages speak to developers ("Security that opens a PR instead of a ticket"), security teams and CISOs, and its plans are named for that path: the free Developer plan is "for devs and curious minds", Basic "for small teams to cover the basics", Pro "for growing teams to scale security". You connect your GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or Azure DevOps account and it scans continuously from there.

Tuvio is for one person who built an app with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Lovable and wants to know whether it is ready for real users. You paste a repository or a site address, read a launch verdict, and hand the fixes to the assistant that wrote the code.

## Side by side

| | Aikido Security | Tuvio |
| --- | --- | --- |
| What it scans | On every plan: dependencies, your code, secrets, infrastructure as code, containers, cloud posture, licenses, outdated software, dynamic testing (DAST). From Pro: malware in dependencies, attack surface monitoring, API scanning | Your code, dependencies, keys in the code and its git history, npm packages known to be malicious or that don't exist, Dockerfile, Kubernetes and Terraform settings, Supabase row level security in SQL migrations, Stripe webhooks, AI SDK use, mobile config |
| Where it runs | Web dashboard on your connected repositories; pull-request gating and CI (paid plans); IDE plugins (VS Code, Cursor and Windsurf free, JetBrains paid); a server for AI coding tools (paid plans, per its pricing table) | The web app, and your AI coding tool (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) through Tuvio's server, on a free account |
| Setup | Create an account and connect your repositories; results "within about a minute" | Paste a repository or site address; the first scan of a repository needs no account |
| Free tier | Developer, "$0 / free forever": 2 users, 10 repositories, 2 container images, 1 domain, 1 cloud account, 10 AI AutoFixes a month; rescans every 3 days, no manual scans | Scans are free: 5 repositories, a rescan a day per repository when there are new commits, 1 free AI review, free site scans |
| First paid plan | Basic, $350 a month including 10 users (as shown to US visitors; €300 in Europe): 100 repositories, unlimited AutoFixes, pull-request security review | Pro, $29.99 a month for one account: 20 repositories, rescans any time, 20 AI reviews a month |
| Monitoring | Paid plans scan daily by default (adjustable to every 3 days, weekly or monthly); Free every 3 days | Pro: a weekly rescan of 5 GitHub repositories with an email only for new High or Critical issues, and weekly checks of 5 verified sites |
| AI fixes | AutoFix: an inline diff in the IDE, one-click fixes in pull requests, or AutoFix pull requests opened for you | An AI review checks which findings are real and writes a fix prompt for each, to paste into your own assistant. Tuvio never edits your code |
| Live site | DAST on every plan (1 domain on Free), using "a subset of safe OWASP ZAP scans"; authenticated scans from Basic | A free launch checklist of what the site serves to anyone; deeper checks once you verify you own the site |

AI reviews outside Pro cost $1.99 for one or $4.99 for three. Tuvio's scans themselves are free on both plans.

## Is Aikido Security free?

Yes. Aikido's Developer plan is "$0 / free forever" with no credit card, for up to 2 users and 10 repositories, per its [pricing page](https://www.aikido.dev/pricing). It covers a lot. The catches, from Aikido's own pages:

- **You can't start a scan.** Free workspaces "are scanned every 3 days, and users cannot trigger scans manually", per Aikido's [scanning frequency docs](https://help.aikido.dev/getting-started/general-information/scanning-frequencies). Fix something today and the dashboard confirms it at the next scheduled scan, up to 3 days later.
- **No checks on pull requests.** CI gating and pull-request decorations are on the paid plans only.
- **No AI coding tool access.** Aikido's pricing table marks its server for AI coding tools as a paid feature.
- **Small allowances elsewhere.** 10 AI AutoFixes a month, 1 domain for its live-app scanning, 2 container images, 1 cloud account.
- **A big step to the next plan.** After Free comes Basic at $350 a month, including 10 users (the price shown to US visitors). There is no plan for one person in between. Aikido does offer startups "up to 30% off", with conditions.

## Where Tuvio's free plan goes further

For one person checking one AI-built app, these are the differences that count:

- **You start the rescan.** A free account rescans a repository once a day when it has new commits, so a fix you push this morning is confirmed today.
- **Your AI coding tool can use it.** A free account works from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex: "Scan this repo with Tuvio".
- **No account for the first look.** The first scan of a repository needs no account, and the live-site scan is free with or without one.
- **A paid plan sized for one person.** Pro is $29.99 a month for one account.
- **Checks written for how these apps break.** Supabase row level security in your migrations, Stripe webhooks, AI SDK keys in the browser, with a launch verdict in plain language.

## Tuvio's free plan has limits too

- 5 repositories, and one rescan a day per repository, only when there are new commits.
- One free AI review. Fix prompts come from an AI review, so after the first one they cost $1.99 for one review or $4.99 for three.
- No monitoring: the weekly rescan and its emails are on Pro.
- No pull-request, IDE or CI checks, and nothing for containers or cloud accounts, on any plan.

## When Aikido is the better choice

- **You want one platform for code, cloud and containers.** Aikido scans cloud accounts, container images and virtual machines alongside the code. Tuvio reads the repository and the live site, nothing in your cloud account.
- **You are a team and want pull requests gated.** Aikido's paid plans block risky pull requests and review them. Tuvio does not sit in your pull requests or your CI.
- **You want fixes as pull requests.** Aikido's AutoFix can open the pull request for you. Tuvio deliberately leaves the change to your own assistant.
- **You need license compliance, SBOMs or compliance tooling.** Aikido's paid plans cover license compliance and SBOMs and sync to Drata and Vanta. Tuvio checks dependencies for known vulnerabilities only.
- **You want protection while the app runs.** Aikido offers in-app runtime protection for Node.js, Python and other runtimes. Tuvio checks before and between releases, not live traffic.
- **You need a scanner that tests your API or a logged-in app.** Aikido offers authenticated DAST from Basic and API scanning from Pro. Tuvio's site scan never signs in.

## When Tuvio fits better

- **You built the app with an AI assistant and ship it alone.** The report is a launch verdict and plain-language findings, and each fix is a prompt for the assistant that wrote the code.
- **Your app runs on Supabase.** Tuvio flags the row level security shapes that leak data in SQL migrations, from policies open to anyone to policies that trust `user_metadata`. [Supabase RLS policy examples](https://tuvio.dev/blog/supabase-rls-policy-examples) shows the fixes, and [is the Supabase anon key safe](https://tuvio.dev/blog/supabase-anon-key-safe) explains why those policies are what protects your data.
- **You take payments or call an AI model.** Tuvio flags Stripe webhooks that skip or ignore their signature check, checkout amounts taken from the request, and AI SDKs running in the browser with a public key.
- **You want to rescan after you push.** A free account rescans a repository once a day when it has new commits, without waiting for a schedule.
- **You want your AI tool to ask for the scan.** On a free account, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex can run "Scan this repo with Tuvio" and read the findings.
- **You may have committed a key months ago.** The secret scan reads the git history, not only today's files. If it finds one, [accidentally pushed a .env file](https://tuvio.dev/blog/accidentally-pushed-env-file-to-github) covers what to do, in order.
- **You are one person, not ten.** Pro is priced for one account.

What Tuvio checks, stack by stack, and what it doesn't, is on the [coverage page](https://tuvio.dev/coverage).

## Using both

They overlap less than the feature lists suggest. A solo builder can run Aikido's free plan on the repository for continuous coverage of code, containers and cloud, and use Tuvio before launch for the checks shaped around AI-built apps on Supabase and Stripe, plus the plain-language report and fix prompts.

The quickest way to see which fits is to try it: [scan your repository or your live site](https://tuvio.dev/scan) for free. The first scan needs no account, and the report shows what Tuvio flags in your app.

For the wider field, including GitHub's built-in tools, Snyk and Semgrep, see [security scanners for vibe-coded apps](https://tuvio.dev/blog/security-scanner-for-vibe-coded-apps). The same comparison against Snyk is in [Tuvio vs Snyk](https://tuvio.dev/blog/tuvio-vs-snyk).

Aikido's plans and features were checked in October 2026 on its [pricing page](https://www.aikido.dev/pricing), the [DAST page](https://www.aikido.dev/attack/surface-monitoring-dast) and [Aikido's help center](https://help.aikido.dev/). Its prices depend on where you visit from, and the figures above are those shown to US visitors. Tuvio's are on its [pricing page](https://tuvio.dev/pricing). Prices change, so check both before you decide.
